Reese Brantmeier Project

OBJECTIVES

The Reese Brantmeier Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit initiative created to help restore two community tennis courts in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Reese Brantmeier has undertaken this project to promote tennis in her rural hometown and give back to her community. A majority of this community is economically disadvantaged and otherwise will not have the opportunity to be introduced to tennis. These courts and subsequent programming will introduce local children and families of all skill levels, ages, and identities to the joys and opportunities of this life-long sport. These courts would directly increase physical activity rates, cardiovascular fitness, and overall long-term health by promoting non-sedentary habits.

This project is partnered with the Patrick W. Ryan Memorial Tennis Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to promoting tennis in Southeastern Wisconsin

Reese Brantmeier has taken the first step in this project by personally contributing a $5,000 donation. Donations are critical to making this project a reality. A contribution of any size is always appreciated and a great way to show your support of our vision and values.

You can help us reach our goal through donations of any size or sharing our initiative!

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am humbled and excited by the opportunity to restore these courts and share all the joys that tennis can bring with my Whitewater family. The growth I have experienced - personally and professionally - since the beginning of my tennis journey is immeasurable. It is my dream to provide this same opportunity to the next generation.

Over recent years, I’ve been saddened to see these courts permanently locked due to their hazardous condition. For many families in our community, financial barriers prevent children from being introduced to tennis. I had the privilege to travel for my training and competitions growing up - this is not an option for most. I vowed that I would someday find a way to restore these courts to a playable condition and bring tennis back to my community.

It may be the dream of a student now to earn athletic scholarships to pursue higher education. Perhaps they dream of

pursuing a professional athletic career. Or, a student may want to just have fun playing with their friends and families. No matter the "why", they deserve every opportunity to explore all that the sport has to offer in a safe, inviting environment.

It is important to remember where you come from when you find yourself in a position to uplift your community beside you. I am eternally grateful for all I have been given throughout my tennis journey and want to pay it forward; the future tennis players to come from Whitewater deserve these same opportunities and more.

The Reese Brantmeier Project is about more than sport. Children from diverse backgrounds should be represented in tennis, regardless of their socioeconomic status or identity. We are striving to create an environment where every child feels included, valued, and empowered. Tennis programming in our community would not only teach the fundamentals of a lifelong sport but also instill confidence in the next generation, creating a cycle of service and leadership in Whitewater.

"The Reese Brantmeier Project carries a wonderful story of a young girl attending Washington Elementary and how tennis changed her world. Like Reese, my world was my neighborhood. Tennis changed my world by giving me an opportunity to change the world too as a pioneer of women's tennis.

I support this program because we need to have kids play tennis and expose them to the wonders of the world. Restoring these courts would offer a place where you can learn and dream of becoming a champion. This is a worthwhile project and I call on all my friends to help however they can in funding and helping Reese help others!"

"The Reese Brantmeier Project is an incredible initiative by Reese to restore the local tennis courts and help the community enjoy tennis as a lifelong sport. Our family has been involved in tennis for our entire life, and I owe my love for the sport to my parents. This project can help provide this love and passion to many families in the Whitewater area. Please help me support Reese in restoring these courts and allowing many families lasting memories together. We are all so thankful for Reese and her accomplishments to the UNC family and will continue to support her in all of her endeavors."
